# Is inboxy up?

## Check first

- **Status page:** [status.inboxy.net](https://status.inboxy.net) — live state of every part of the service, plus any incidents in flight.
- **Big incidents:** also posted to `@inboxystatus` on social.
- **History:** the status page archives every published incident since launch.

The status page updates within minutes of detection — usually faster than we can reply to an email. Check there first.

## What can break, and what you'd notice

| If this is having a wobble… | …here's what you'd see |
|---|---|
| **Receiving mail** | New mail not arriving; senders get a bounce. |
| **Sorting mail** | Mail arrives but isn't tagged or summarised yet — still readable, search still works. |
| **Sending digests and forwards** | Digest doesn't show up on time; OTP forwards stuck in the queue. |
| **Agent and extension access** | Your agent or browser extension errors out. |
| **The website** | The account page (and this one) won't load. |
| **Click-through links** | Links in forwarded mail or the digest 5xx when clicked. |
| **Digest scheduling** | Digests don't fire — even if sending itself is fine. |

## We try to fail gracefully

- If sorting is down, mail still arrives and is still readable — it just sits as "awaiting classification" until the sorter catches up.
- If sending is down, digests queue up and drain when it recovers. You won't get duplicates.
- The API and the website run as separate services, so one being down doesn't automatically take the other down.

## When something looks off but the status page is quiet

Email `support@inboxy.net` with the time you noticed (timezone is fine, exact second isn't needed) and the email address on your account. We don't need the rest of your account details to investigate a service issue.
